So to talk about something recent...

Let me tell you a bit about "The Boat That Rocked". A British film made by the creators of "Love Actually", "The Boat That Rocked" is a fictional film based on real pirate radio stations in the 1960's. These stations were set up on boats just outside British law, meaning they could play whatever they wanted. At this time they were the only stations to play rock and pop music all night and all day. The film follows the characters on one such boat. They deal with the tensions of living together, with being for the most part without women, and discover dug up secrets. There's also a coming of age theme, as one character discovers love and life. Meanwhile the British government is desperately trying to find a way to close them down. The film is entertaining and interesting, but runs about a half hour longer than it needs to. It was monotonous at times, but definitely worth seeing.
